Our family kickstart the new year with a reunion lunch held Pullman Hotel. Mom wanted to try out the new hotel and check out the food. It was a good hearty lunch. We were struggling to eat all the 9 courses but alas we failed. The noodles had to be doggy bagged !!!What surprised me most during the lunch was how my hubby managed to drink the strong ginger tea. For someone who hates ginger and glares at me when I cook with ginger...he shocked me by drinking two bowls of ginger tea when the rest of us were struggling to down it. I love ginger but the tea was just too strong for me. He says the tea reminds him of Penang.

In retrospect , this new year has been pretty quiet and laid back for us. Went to a few open houses and visited a few relatives. Even the sound of fire crackers and the fireworks were comparatively less than previous years.
At Goh's house. Philip's friend is always encouraging Jordan to take up cricket. He asked Jordan to try out the gear to entice him to join cricket. However, he did warn that cricket is a boring game!!!!
Our hope for this new year is that we may all prosper in health and in all that we do. Starting this new year, Philip is taking lead of 1 cell group. Our previous cell group has grown to 10 families with kids outnumbering the adults. For conducive growth , there was no choice but to split. It was an amicable split and now with a group size of 5 families we are heading into a year which we believe will draw us closer to our Maker. I on the other hand, have taken heed of the Lord's call to serve in the Youth ministry which I find most daunting at best. Both Philip and myself have our plate full this year. We need God's wisdom & strength to carry out His work .It is our desire to see His name glorified and the lives of the people we lead impacted by the love and transforming power of God.
