Rejoice !

Read this doc on Scribd: Rejoice

Rejoice, for the Lord is good
Rejoice! For help is on its way
Rejoice! He will turn things around
Rejoice! For the Lord is good.

My winter will melt into spring
The desert will bloom once again
He will put me in a broad place
So come on let's rejoice....

A bruised reed He will not break
His compassion for me is so great
He will heal all the wounds of His children
So come on let's rejoice....

Indeed to rejoice is an important aspect of our Christian life. Many times we think we can be happy or rejoice only when our dreams come true, or when we've more money, of if so and so would change, or if our career is different. But the truth of the matter is we cannot wait till all these happen to be happy. To rejoice is to see beyond the current circumstances. Some circumstances are horrific and heart wrenching. Only God can empower us with that special grace and vision and heart to rejoice.

Our Father instructs us “to rejoice in all circumstances:... it is definitely not easy to do so but if God says so... it also means He'll help us to do so. (I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Phil 4:13) As we reflect on God's character and meditate on His word, we will come to know that He is loving, gracious, powerful and all-knowing. Nothing is too difficult for Him, no situation is too big for Him to turn around.

There are days when I feel down, unhappy and downright low.... I had to make a conscious effort and decision – to choose to rejoice and be happy. Many times I feel the strength of God and His faithfulness as I choose to obey His instruction to rejoice.

Having walked thru the valley of pain and great difficulties, I have experienced His power in my life, and this song is indeed a prophetic message for all of us. As human beings , we are packed with emotions. There are days of disappointments, sorrow and grief but these should be temporal . These feelings shouldn’t have a mastery over our lives. Focus on God. He will give you every reason to rejoice, even now !
